Outpatient addiction & mental health treatment β PHP, IOP & telehealth β about 20 minutes inland from Venice, in a calm clinical setting.
Venice draws people who make things β artists, musicians, writers, and freelancers who build life on their own terms. It is also a neighborhood that has felt the fentanyl crisis up close. Many people here know someone whose life has been reshaped by opioids. We want to say this plainly: recovery is possible, and structure is usually what makes it hold. Golden State Rehab treats fentanyl addiction and opioid use disorder, along with alcohol, other substances, and mental health conditions.
Our DHCS-licensed outpatient center sits at 1964 Westwood Blvd, about 20 minutes inland from the boardwalk. That short distance helps β a quiet clinical setting, away from familiar routines, gives treatment room to work without pulling you out of your life. You attend during the day or evening and sleep in your own bed. One honest note: we do not provide detox on site. If you need medically supervised withdrawal first, which is common with fentanyl, we connect you with a licensed detox partner and hold your place in our program.

Venice and Santa Monica host recovery meetings every day of the week β twelve-step groups and secular alternatives alike β and many are walkable from Venice neighborhoods. Before you finish treatment with us, we help you build a weekly support routine you can actually keep.
If opioids are part of your story, naloxone (Narcan) is worth knowing about. It reverses opioid overdose and is sold over the counter at most pharmacies. We talk with clients and families about keeping it on hand β a practical safety step, plain and simple.
Stable housing helps early recovery hold. We coordinate referrals to structured sober living homes across Southern California, including Comeback Sober Living, for clients attending our PHP or IOP programs.
Two numbers worth saving: SAMHSA's free, confidential helpline at 1-800-662-4357 (24/7, English and Spanish) and the national locator at FindTreatment.gov. In a mental health crisis, call or text 988.
And when treatment ends, the connection doesn't β our alumni program keeps you tied to peers and staff for the long haul.

Yes. Opioid use disorder, including fentanyl, is one of the main conditions we treat. Care is outpatient β PHP or IOP β with therapy, group support, and medication support coordinated through our psychiatry team. If you need medically supervised withdrawal first, which is common with fentanyl, we refer you to a licensed detox facility and hold your place in our program.
We are outpatient only. You attend structured treatment during the day or evening, then sleep at home or in sober living. Inpatient and residential programs house you overnight; we don't offer that, and we'll tell you honestly if we think you need it. For many people, outpatient care brings real structure without leaving work, school, or family behind.
In most cases, yes. We accept most major PPO plans β Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and others β and where you live in LA doesn't affect your coverage. Our admissions team verifies your exact benefits for free, usually within about an hour, before you make any commitment.
Then you're in good company here. Return to use is common with substance use disorders β especially opioids β and it doesn't erase the progress you made or mean treatment can't work for you. We'll look at what helped last time, change what didn't, and start from where you are now. No lectures, no shame.
Coverage varies by plan. Our admissions team verifies your exact benefits for free and explains your options honestly, without pressure.
Insurance logos are shown to help you identify your plan and are trademarks of their respective owners; they do not imply endorsement. Coverage varies by plan β verification is free and confidential.
