It all started with an actor, a sales guy, a therapist and a psychiatrist

We all had very different jobs.

Dean was an actor and comedian before he got into this work. He's a dad of six, and he was in recovery himself.
Scott was a top sales rep at Yelp. Then he got sober and lost over 150 pounds.
Viola spent almost four years working in treatment, from detox all the way to IOP.
Dr. Eric was chief resident in psychiatric emergency services at USC.

In April, the State of California made it official

The Department of Health Care Services is the state agency that certifies outpatient rehabs here, and on April 15 they approved ours. That's the day we could actually start helping people.

In August, we were accredited by the same group that inspects hospitals

It's called The Joint Commission, an independent nonprofit that checks healthcare organizations all over the country. They gave us their Gold Seal of Approval eleven weeks after we opened.

In September, Nechama and Eduardo joined, and that made nine of us

Nechama is a trauma-informed therapist and Eduardo is our program director. All nine of us still work out of that same suite in Westwood.
