Golden State Rehab is an outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation center — you come in for structured treatment during the day or evening, then go home to your own bed. There are no overnight stays, no locked doors, and no six-week disappearance from your life. And because addiction rarely travels alone, our clinicians treat the substance use and the co-occurring depression, anxiety, or trauma underneath it in the same treatment plan, not in separate silos.

To be clear on terms: this is a behavioral health rehabilitation center for addiction and mental health, not a physical or medical rehab facility for injuries, stroke, or surgery recovery. As a Los Angeles addiction treatment center, we offer a full ladder of outpatient care — from full weekdays of clinical programming down to a few evening sessions a week — so treatment can start intensive and loosen as your recovery strengthens. Every level is built from the same ingredients: group therapy led by licensed clinicians, weekly individual sessions with your primary therapist, and psychiatric evaluation and medication support when your plan calls for it.

A Step-Down Pathway

Levels of Care at Our Rehabilitation Center

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Our most structured level — full weekdays of therapy, psychiatry, and skill-building at the center, with your evenings and nights at home. PHP is where treatment usually begins when you need the most support, or where you land after finishing residential care elsewhere.

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

The middle rung: 3-hour sessions several days a week, so treatment stays substantial while work, school, or family life resumes around it. Most clients step down into IOP from PHP — or start here when full days aren't clinically necessary.

Evening IOP

The same IOP curriculum on an after-work clock — 3-hour evening groups, 3 to 5 nights a week. Evening IOP exists for people whose daytime obligations are non-negotiable: careers to protect, kids to pick up, and no room for a leave of absence.

Virtual IOP

Full intensive outpatient treatment through secure video — live groups, individual sessions, and psychiatry from anywhere in California. Virtual IOP is the same program and the same clinicians, minus the commute across town.

Outpatient Drug Rehab

As you stabilize, hours taper: our outpatient rehab program continues group and individual therapy on a lighter weekly schedule. It's the bridge between intensive treatment and ordinary life — structure that loosens as your recovery holds.

Telehealth Rehab

Every level of our care can flex online. Telehealth rehab covers secure video therapy and psychiatry statewide — useful when you live outside the Westside, travel for work, or simply do your best talking from your own kitchen table.

Our levels of care range from PHP (full weekdays of treatment) through IOP and evening IOP down to standard outpatient rehab, so the intensity can match your clinical needs and then taper as you stabilize.

Do you provide medical detox?

No — as an outpatient center, we don't provide medical detox, and withdrawal from alcohol, benzodiazepines, and some other substances can be dangerous without medical supervision. What we do instead: when our assessment shows detox is needed first, we help you arrange it with a licensed detox provider, and your treatment with us begins as soon as you're medically ready. Telling you that honestly upfront is part of how we'd like to earn your trust.
